TEAM MASON Wrestling Philosophy

The "Masonry"

Masonry- the building of structures from individual units, which are laid in and bound together by                  mortar

               - masonry is generally a highly durable form of construction

Our structured style of training involves a technique intensive environment geared for students who want to learn the ins and outs of our sport.  We also bring a mental dynamic to the sport where we always want to work smarter and not always harder.  Hard workers are what we want, but smart hard workers will ultimately become the most successful.

               - the materials used, quality of the mortar and workmanship, and the pattern in which the

units are assembled can significantly affect the durability of the overall masonry

                 construction

We want our students to be the most physically dominant and technically sound athletes around.  Achieving this will take an unmatched education of the sport, an attentive ear, and a willingness to keep learning. Students will learn new things each day as well as reinforcement of old material on a regular basis

              - lastly the term masonry can also refer to the units themselves

Although we are all individuals we will work as a team to help form the mortar that bonds us altogether.  One brick, granite, or concrete block at a time we will grow in a stepping stone type fashion. At the end of the day forming a sound structure and 'Team' of students that are unmatched and ready to weather the perfect storm.

SCORE POINTS

Our focus is a systematic approach with an emphasis on scoring from every position and every situation.  We shoot we score, you shoot we score, we are on top we score, we are on bottom we score.  We believe our students need to be skilled from all three areas of wrestling; neutral, bottom and top.

This is a high intensity offensive strategy designed to overwhelm our opponents and maximize scoring opportunities.  The end goal is a performance that is technically dominant.  The technique is progressive and one technique builds upon and transitions to another.  We never stop moving as we focus on drills that help our wrestlers perform with smooth execution and seamless transition.  That mindset and unrelenting attack is what will put points on the scoreboard and defeat wrestlers who train one or two moves at a time.  This is what we preach and how we train.  Our students range in age from 6-22 and in addition to working on technique and drills we also incorporate a training regiment leading up to State and National Events across the country.

Our dynamic training combines a unique synthesis of physical technique and training along with a mental approach that includes positive thinking, wrestling knowledge, and mental focus to form an ultimate match strategy.
