About Us

Team Mason Wrestling Academy was designed to provide a specialized approach , and creative training opportunity for wrestlers that want excel and compete at the hightest level. We wanted to separate ourselves from the masses and provide a complete training methodology that teaches wrestling technique both mentally and physically. We also wanted to incroporate all the positional needs that are required to compete at the highest levels (High School, Collegiate, International) and they include training from all 3 folkstyle positions; neutral, bottom and top as well as an emphasis on International styles; Freestyle and Greco Roman.

Mario Mason- Director/Head Coach

'The Shot Doctor' Mario Mason is a charismatic individual with a true love for the sport of wrestling. A smooth unassuming technician from the neutral position, his high energy, and all around competitive nature allows him to be a coach with great passion for the sport.

Coach Mason wrestled at the #1 ranked Blair Academy and wrestled for Jeff Buxton, one of the most decorated high school coaches in the country. Coach Buxton's technique intensive, hard nosed environment helped shape his high school career, as well as laying down the building blocks to becoming a coach.

Coach Mason still trains and competes at the international level, and bring this level of technique back for Team Mason members.

Mark Grey Assistant Coach

Mark Grey our newest addition to the Team is a north jersey native that like Coach Mason wrestled for the Blair Buccaneers. Here Coach Grey was a standout for the entirety of his high school career, compiling 12 national titles wins.

In college he attended Cornell University following his brother Mike Grey also a standout athlete from New Jersey. Mark has been around some of the best coaches in the country since he started wrestling. Coach Buxton former Blair head coach and now the Lehigh Valley Athletic Club coach, as well as Rob Koll for the Big Red of Cornell, who has coach 20 individual NCAA champ and was an NCAA champion himself. He also was in the room at Cornell with another Jersey native Damian Hahn who was a 3x New Jersey State champ and 2x NCAA national champ. Mark will bring a host of technique and energy to our program and will be an asset for any young athlete to train with him for years to come.
